Default 91 Eclipse GS

I have a 91 Eclipse and it won't start.... a couple days ago the starter fried in it... it didn't want to disengage.... so i replaced the starter... and now all that happens is a little grinding sound when i try to turn the motor over... the motor won't even begin to turn over! what could be the problem??? Flywheel teeth missing, bad starter, something in the wiring???? any help would be appreciated!!! Thanks!

Did you match the new starter with the old one that you removed (including the drive gear)? It sounds like you've got a problem with the mesh of the starter drive gear or the flywheel ring gear. Since there is no adjustment as far as started installation- you'll need to look into those possibilities.

i couldn't match em side by side because i had to take the old one in for a core charge when i ordered it cause i didn't have the money to order it with the core charge included.... im gonna take it back and have them test it before i do anything else....
