95 Mirage 1.5
I am hoping someone might be able to help me. I picked up a new head and timing belt. The crankshaft is on TDC and the cam shaft is notch up. I had no problem putting on the timing belt. I turned the crank and the intake valves opened then closed on the # 1 cyl. and I ut it back on TDC. I went to put the distributor in and the rotor is facing the # 4 wire. It will not start. I figured I put the timing belt out 180. I checked chiltons repair manual and it says I did it right. I do have spark at the end of the plug wires. I had also replaced cap, rotor, wires and plugs as well. Is there something I missed. Please help. Thanks, Don Waiberman
you dont have ANY spark? even if the engnie is out of timing, you should still have spark...but it wont start due to the timing issues...if there is NO spark, you have bigger problems then the timing being out...was the car running fine before?
