97 3000gt Door lock issue
 

I just recently bought a 97 3000gt. My first mitsubishi.

I purchased from a private seller and did not check the door locks like a dummy.

So, this is my situation. Neither doors will unlock with the key. The Key does unlock the trunk and of course starts the engine just fine.

What would cause this? The locks 'seem' like they may be electric base so the first thing I checked were all of the fuses, which i didn't find any issue.

Anything else I should check?

If the key turns in the door lock cylinder, the linkage rods been knocked off, probably by someone trying to unlock the door with a slim-jim. You need to pull the door panels and check it out.

The key does NOT turn. The electric locks on the inside will lock the door and will manually lock from the inside, but the key will not turn the locks from the outside.

take the door panel off, remove the linkage rod from the door lock cylinder. If the key turns then, you need a latch. If it doesnt turn you need new lock cyls.
