I have a 2001 Montero Sport that I just can't seem to get the AC to work right.., I took the truck to 2 dealership's they can't fine anything wrong, From the start, My truck only blow cold when the truck is over 2000rpm's. I have had the condenser,evaporator,expansion valve, reciever drier and compressor change. Still the samething...The dealership felt so bad then didn't charge me for the visit...I'm lost does anyone have any idea's,,,P.S. the freon level is where it is suppose to be....

 

expansion valve just cause its new does not mean it is good

 

I thought of that, so I went and brought a new expansion valve from autozone, that didn't work. I went by a local pull a part and pickup another evap. and expansion valve together, no luck. Do you know if these trucks have orifice tube. I evac'ed the system once again, and put in all new freon no change. It seems as though the freon is not getting to where it suppose to be fast enough. There has to be something stopping the movement of the freon.

 

did you change the drier ???? if you have an expansion valve you do not have an orfice tube

 

is the fan on the condensor running when you turn the a/c on ????
