I have an 04 lancer sportback with auto trans. I can feel it downshift as I coast to stop, and even when I'm braking. You can see the rpm jump up as it shifts down. It feels strange, like a surge forward when I'm trying to stop. Is this normal? Is this using up more gas, which I can barely afford anyway?
