One cold morning recently, the Heater-AC-Defroster Blower on My 2001 Diamante just didn't run.
There are 109,000 Miles on the old girl and I had heard some suspicious squawks from the fan recently, so I bought a replacement Fan Motor from a local salvage yard.
Yesterday I installed it and NOTHING.... The climate control has a screen that indicates the controls are operating normally, BUT the blower motor doesn't run.
STEP ONE: I checked the Old Motor I removed with direct jumper wires from the battery and VIOLA it runs fine.
STEP TWO: I put a volt meter on the two wire feed plug to the blower motor and it reads 12.7 V. when the Heater control is turned OFF.
STEP THREE: I push the "Automatic" setting on the climate control, the Voltage reading drops to 4.3 V.
BEFORE I invest in a new Climate Control Module.... ANY IDEAS?
