Clutch replaced crazy squealling noise
To start off, I bought an 09 Lancer GTS with a 2.4 & manual trans. Knew the engine was blown, figured while I was swapping the engine out I might as well change the clutch. Good thing because the clutch was pretty much at the last bit of it's life. Noting concerning about the old parts, just worn down & needing replacement. This brings us to the problem, after installing a new FLYWHEEL, CLUTCH DISC(SINGLE), PRESSURE PLATE & THROWOUT, I bled the system accordingly, got all of the air out have good pressure on the pedal. about 1/2 inch of freeplay on pedal before beginning of resistance from pedal. When I fire the vehicle up, there is a loud squeal that does not go away with the pedal depressed or fully up. the only way the noise goes away is when you depress the clutch pedal & attempt to put the car in gear. I used the word attempt because I can not put the car in the gear, maybe I could but I'm not forcing into gear & hurting synchros. I know that I did something wrong, I run a vehicle repair shop but this the first clutch I've ever replaced. & before you say "how do you run a repair shop & never replaced a clutch," most people where I live do not drive manuals & if they do they work on their own cars. Flywheel Bolts are torqued to spec, I'm 99% sure the clutch disc is not in backwards as the springs in the center of the clutch disc would have contacted the flywheel bolts if it were placed the other way. Used the center alignment tool to center disc. Torqued pressure plate bolts to spec & greased input shaft before installing throwout. I know i have to pull the tranny, just curious if anyone has ran into this & has sense of direction as to what the problem could be based on the symptoms I have described. Thanks in advance.
