correct inflation for 17" tires???
?????
I purchased an 03 Galant ES a few years ago. It came with 17" Eclipse wheels on it. The Galant manual and the sticker on the car has the recommended tire pressure for the 2 Galant sizetires (smaller than 17") I can't find a way to determine the correct pressure for my 215 50R17 tires. I just bought new tires and think thatI may have been under inflating the old ones (worn out on the outside edges) Thanks ?????? |

ORIGINAL: Sebba Low 30s is fine And also make sure to do the psi when its cold as you will get thermal expansion when its warmer |
RE: correct inflation for 17" tires???
on a passanger car that experiences little to no extra load, heat, friction, or stress than usual, anywhere between 32 and 37 is fine. Since I doubt you are taking this car to the track, hauling a trailer, speeding in excess of 120mph, or taking extremely hard corners, you would be find at around 35 psi.
Also, like TheEngineer said, make sure you check your air pressure often (at least once a month), especially when the temperature changes frequently from hot to cold to hot, etc. |
