Outlander PHEV 2015. Constant double beeps with no warning notice and braking paddles inoperative. I stop, put into neutral, pause and start again - sometimes I have to do it several times - and the beeping stops and the paddles work. For some months the problem disappeared, but has now returned. Any ideas?

 

Experiencing double beeps accompanied by inoperative braking paddles can be frustrating and concerning, especially when the problem resolves temporarily but resurfaces unexpectedly.

 

The frustration is the reason for my posting this item: the frustration still remains.
The problem does not resurface unexpectedly, it is wholly expected every time I start driving and the inoperative brake paddles is not half as irritating as the constant beep-beep - that is infuriating.
Can no-one tell me why this is happening? My Mitsubishi agent could not.
