Hi All, I have a 2006 Endeavor and have noticed this summer that when I use the A/C after a couple minutes the Service Engine Soon light turns on. If I don't use the A/C for a day or two it turns off. Any ideas. I'll be honest, I am 80k and haven't done plugs or wires, mostly because you have to take apart so much to get to three of the plugs. I'm guessing this has something to do with it, but wanted to check here first. Thanks in advance.

 

next time you get the CEL bring it to autozone or somewhere like that and have them scan for the code. It actually may still be in the computer but you better to wait. then you can tell what the problem is from there

 

Just to give an update if others have this same problem, stopped at Autozone and had the code read, just as suggested. Code read possible dirty throttle body or idle bad sensor. I started by cleaning out the throttle body, it was definitely due to be done. Took about 10 minutes and sure enough, that was the problem. Now I suppose I will get to spending half the day changing the coils and plugs....yeah.

 

I've just done my plugs and now the SES light is on. Damn, this is probably related and I have just posted on another thread not 5 minutes ago that they weren't!
