I have a 94 eclipse that runs good in park or neutral, but when I put it in drive or reverse the engine ( 1.8) stalls.When the car is coasting and then put in drive it stays running and goes thru all the gears untill I stop and it stalls. I replaced the torque converter, but it didn't help. If anyone has some ideas I would really appreciate your input. Thank you in advance.

 

How's the idle when it's in nuetral? Is it low or does it sit at 700-800RPM when warm?

 

It sits @ 1100. I changed the two sensors, but it didn't help. It was doing fine untill I stopped to get gas and that was when it stalled.

 

check if the idle speed control motor is starting to get lazy or it can be a possible ecu problem. Might need to go to dealer with that.
