Getting a CARB (California)compliant cat installed for approx $350
I had my 01 montero sport 3.0 smog checked ( Im in california )and the passenger side cat failed.
Apparently everything else passed to that point.
Has anyone with a montero sport in california gone to auto zone,bought a cat ("c.a.r.b "compliant with the correct EO# 8184 ,date & flow direction stamped on cat),specifically for our engine/engine family then taken it to a muffler shop & had them install it ? When that was installed ,gone back to the smog station and had them resume the emission test to completion?
