OK drove 94 3000 gt sl down the road about 9 miles had no issues stopped got out for a bit got back in started down the road and heard a squeal under the hood on drivers side and had a burnt smell and the temp gauge shot to hot in a couple of seconds . does any one have any ideals

 

1) Check coolant level. If everything is okay, move on.

2) Check over flow bottle. If it's full, go to #3.

3) Do a compression test. If your numbers are odd, then you have a head gasket issue. Then do a wet test to determine if it's the rings, or the head gasket.

4) If everything checks out so far, flush your radiator and change the thermostat.

5) If the issue persists, sell the car.

If you don't know what anything means, google it. You can get your answer far faster yourself than it takes me to read and type it.

 

Could it be the water pump that is causing this as well

 

Not very likely.

 

Sebba actually that is likely. If he heard a squeel its pretty good chance that was the belt and the pump may have not been running.

 

i found out that it was the water pump locked up tighter then a cookie jar at a fat camp thanks for the help
