i was sitting at a red light and i started to smell anti freeze i look down and my car i runnin rele hotttt so i start to pull off the road and when i give it gas it starts to cool down relativly quickly...so i experiment with it and it does it at every time i stop. can you guys help me out?

and 1 more thing when should i get my next tune up im at 89k miles i dnt have a car manual thats why im askin?

coolant levels are good...the thermostat is new and its not a cheap one either...i jst had hte oil changed but i dnt think that would matter.... some one suggested the water pump might be bad but idk

You have either a leak or a bubble in the coolant lines.

Remove the cap and let the car idle a little, then check the level

Judging by the comment above, I have to agree with you Sebz. Chances are, someone forgot to relieve the motor of trapped air.
I recommend this route before a new water pump.

yeah... also with the cap off you can see if water circulates, if not, radiator leak
