QYesterday a warning light (red) saying “brake system service required” came on the display on an outlander sport 2012. Immediately after the steering wheel locked when the car was on and parked. When I tried to move the steering wheel to any direction it kicked automatically to the center and the warning sign turned off. Everytime I move the steering wheel it kept kicking back to the center and the warning will go off. I shut the car off and everything was back to normal. Today I got the same warning sign when I was backing up but the steering wheel didn’t lock; it was a quick warning. I took it to a mechanic to check Any fault codes but nothing came up.

Has anyone experienced this, do you know what it might be?
