i recently had a snapped axle on my 2000 mitsubishi galant. i got her fixed and they said everything was ok. but now shes back to doing what she did before, which is idling at about 2k rpms in drive, and not moving when i take my foot off the brake in both reverse and drive. she does a violent jerk when she shifts into 2nd, then everything goes smoothly, however this doesnt happen all the time. it will also try and accelerate on its own when in drive and the foot off the brake at a stop, but goes no where and which is when the jerk will come at about 2k rpms. can the gears be shredded in the transmission and not catching the axle?
