Default Problem with Brakes Please Help!!!!!!!!

Hello All,

I just installed a set of Cross Drilled Rotors in my 97 GST but they are making this incredibly loud annoying grindng noise. I at first thoght that the brakes just need to kinda settle but its been 3 days and its the same. By the Way i did notice that the old brakes were more worn on the left side than the ones on the passenger side ans my forn dist showed signs of like constant overheating, could this have anything to do with the grinding noise now? Please some one help me!!!!!!

The grinding is possibly the pads nearing the end of their life. Replace them

Either that or a wheel bearing.

Did you head cycle the rotors? You may have warped then if you just drive them like normal.

I had this happen on a saturn once, the oneside wasn't working because one of the calipers crapped out. I would take off the one side that isn't wearing out and have some one pump the brake once to see if the caliper cylinder is coming out, if not then either the caliper is bad or the line to it is either clogged or pinched somewhere. Just one idea.

does that sound go away when you apply the brakes, or does it only do it when hitting the brakes? But so far my guess would go with the caliper. Its probably almost seized

Check that your calipers arent ceased.

Some performance rotos you need to heat cycle. Dont worry about it its irrelevant now.
