Any help will be greatly appreciated. I recently installed reverse glow gauges in my 99 eclipse, I followed the directions to the T. Now my speedometer is off by about 10-15 mph and I think that my tech is off too. I tried to fix it the way that I was advised to but it didn't reeally work. Is there anyway that I can fix this problem. Thankx

 

I did that in my old GS and I had to pull off both needles and set them that way... at idle set the RPMs to 700-800 and MPH at 0 and go from there...it took me a while to get right but that is how I had to do it

 

Sir You are my hero.LOL See the way that I was told to do it last time was with the car off to set the needles that way. However, you've been through this before so I will try it your way this time. Once again i would like to thank you for ur support and advise. I'll let you know how the operation goes tomorrow. Actually you know what, I'm planning on purchasing an MR in the near future and I was wondering if an EVO is worth purchasing?

 

Ya I tried to do my car with it off and the RPMs were reading 6000 at idle so thats when I did it with it running and I was good to go.


As for an EVO being worth it I say yes but it all depends on what you want in a car. The MR to me is a waiste of money you can save $5-$10K and buy a regualar model and have it just as good. The only differnces from the MR and reagular are Bilstien suspension alluminum roof and 6 spd the RS gets the Alluminum Roof as well and all 2005 EVOs have a front LSD (03/04s didnt) they all have ACD (03/04s didnt) they all have the 10.5 hotside on the turbo (03/04s had a 9.8 hotside) and they run 20.5 PSI stock the 03/04s ran 16PSI.

I paid $22k for mine with 12k on it I have $950 in mods and should be running high 12s with it so figure total spend $23k and MR will range from $36k-43K.

as for the car itself it has unbeliveable handleing stock. and is very fun to drive but it isnt that comfotable. It isnt something you take on road trips because it has no cruise controll the AWD makes the ride a little more rough than a FWD car and the car follow everything in the road and at times can be hard to keep straight. with the good comes the bad but I wouldnt trade it for anything it is a blast to drive and it gets alot of stares. to me all aroung the car is well worth the money even to only have an 03. an 05 or 06 would be nice but I love my 03 just the same.

 

Once again thank you for your input. Well looks like instead of goin after the MR I'll save about 10-12 grand and get a regular 06. That way I can save my money up for a Skyline. Well ttyl.

 

ok why even buy the EVO then... the Skyline is going to be around $80K in the US if you really want to dump $80K on that I wouldnt buy an EVO. But an EVO with $20k in motor work will smoke that skyline silly.

I paid $22k for mine and add another $20K in motor work we are at $42K the price of a new MR and at that point they are making over 900AWHP and running very very low 9 second 1/4 mile times. go into off topic and search for the Video of the 900+ AWHP EVO VIII I posted it, that guy has around $20k in engine work and makeing that power on a 2.3L bottom end running 43+ PSI (that is alot of Boost)

 

Man, you just like killed my whole fantasy of owning a Evo, Skyline, and a Supra. Next you'll tell me that there is no Easter Bunny, no Santa Clause, and that it wasn't the tooth fairy that snuck into my room a stole my teeth. LOL. No but seriously I do see what you're sayin. Instead of spending all of this foolish money just get the Evo and put $ into that. Well thanks.

 

Skylines just are not worth $80k. when you could even buy a nice RARE supra for that much. I mean if I ever can im buying a 97-98 Royal Saphire Pearl or quicksilver supra those 2 were 2 of the most rare colors to ever make it inthe US only 84 total RSP and only I think 35 Quicksilver ever sold in the US so bone stock they sell for nearly $45K
