SQUEAKY REAR SUSPENSION - OUTLANDER
Hi All:
I have a 2003 Outlander AWD XLS with 86,000 miles. About a month ago, I have a pretty loud squeaking sound that seems to be coming from the left rear suspension area. Loud and annoying enough that when I drive up or down parking ramps, it turns peoples' heads. It is most pronouned when going slow or just starting from rest. Also, when I grab the left side roof rails and rock the Outie back and forth, the same sound emanates from the general area of the left rear suspension.
Any ideas? Or anyone have a similar experience? I live in Minnesota where there is a lot of snow (and therefore salt), however the problem started in the summer / fall. The dealer has no clue (no surprise to me since I've gotten nothing but bonehead reasons from them). I brought it in to them once and they changed a certain part and declared the problem fixed and wanted to charge me $180. Before paying, I checked and the sound was still there, unabated! [:@]Needless to say, I complained like crazy about their dishonest practices and did not pay the $150. The proceeded to tell me that to really fix it, it would cost me $455. WTF!?!?! Since this is out of warranty, many places look at it like a gold mine...
