Default strange ticking sound under steering wheel

I have a 2001 Eclipse Spyder GT...
THere is a quiet yet annoying 'tick' sound that comes from under the dashboard under the steering wheel. It happens both when the car is on and off.
When the car is on, I will not be able to hear it (partly from the bass rumble of the Fatboy muffler).
When I have the car off I can listen and hear it.

Also... Wondered how to stop the Door from CLICK-ing when opened and closed. It has a strong click sound... Makes the car feel old.
I will try White Lithium grease but it will unlikely do the trick.
Any suggestions would be helpful.
T.

do you think it could be an electrical type of ticking. It might be a relay for something.

Not sure about the ticking noise under your dash- but as far as the door "click", all you have to do is retorque the 2 10mm bolts that secure the door check strap. The "check strap" is the part that limits how far the door will open. You may need to tighten it both at the mount to the body and the mount to the door. Do not overtorque!
