Default TCL traction control light?

Hello everyone,
I have an issue that I attempted to find a solution to through searches and can't seem to find anyone having the same problem, so if there is a thread on it I am sorry.

Anyhow, to start with the car is a 2001 Diamanté LS. So I was on my way home last night and there's a little snow on the ground, the tires slip a little here and there and the traction control light (green) pops on and off a couple times trying to get moving. No problem.

After about 10 miles or so (almost home) when leaving a light the tires spin more than before and the TCL (yellow) light comes on blinking at a regular interval and the car does not want to move hardly at all. It's almost as if the throttle is being restricted to 2k rpm. So I get through the intersection and pull over, put it in park, rev a couple times and put it back in drive and try to go again. TCL light blinking the whole time.

So I get moving again, very sluggishly and it gradually picks up speed but the light never stops blinking. I get it home and it seems ok this morning but I haven't had a chance to get it out and test it yet.

Any thoughts? Thanks all. I'll leave more info as I get it.
