Tranny Issues

Tranny Issues
1. What is the transmission designation for a 1996 Eclipse GST? I need to know because I need to buy the right rebuild kit, and the info plate on the car is blank.
2. Is there any company that makes high-strength syncros? I'd rather not just buy stock-replacement syncros, because eventually I do want to use my GST as a track car.
3. How much of a project am I looking at with a full tranny rebuild? Are there any books that can help, because the Hayne's manual doesn't have much info.
Any help would be appreciated, thanks.

RE: Tranny Issues
Send your trans to shep racingand they will do a full rebuild on it. I have seen a couple hit between $2-3k for a full build, not stock.
I forgot to mention they have diffferent stages depending on what hp range your working w/.

RE: Tranny Issues
I'll kep sheptrans in mind for later. I guess for now, I'll just have to stick to autozone rebuild kits and not beat on it. I still need to know which transmission comes in the 96 GST so I can buy the right kit.
I'm too short on cash to work with shep.
