Default Transmission Applications

I'm trying to find out which engines came attached to the KM-162 5 speed. I've spent a while online, but have yet to find a decent list. Anybody know of any EFI/Turbo'd 4's with this trans?

That's the designation according to my manual and a few other places. It's an '89 Hyundai Excel. I know the 4G15 from a Mirage or Precis fits, but I was kinda hoping someone knew of a USDM engine with a little more go. Anybody know thetrans code of theMirage 1.6L Turbo pre-88?

seriously? You're looking at replacing something major in an 89 excel?

not too be rude, but if it needs anything at all in terms of major repairs you would be WAY ahead to get rid of it.

mitsu hasnt used that numbering system since about 1989. Hyundai, being basically 3-4 year old mitsus (at that point in time) used similar numbering systems.
But keep in mind that although the parts are often interchangable, Mitsu and Hyundai engines/transaxles are NOT the same. they used (and still use) a lot of the same tooling and design, but mitsu makes their stuff in japan whereas hyundais are (obviously) korean.
If I remember, I may be able to dig up the older trans codes tomorrow at work. But I dunno if I can remember, as thats not the first thing I think of when I get up in the morning.
