Default Turbo for my 00 GS

Thanks SO MUCH for your input regarding the engine swap. I think I would rather go with the turbo instead. My hubby is a mechanic, but specializes more in domestic - mainly Ford, so we are trying to find out all the info we can. Do you know the best places online to buy a turbo for this, and mainly, is there a help forum or tuning program or something to help us out a little more. He has rebuilt numerous motors, etc, but this is different. What else do we need to upgrade to handle the add'l psi. So many questions...any help is great. Thanks!

call tearstone from tearston.com or go to MitsuoAFL.com or club3g.com and search for a turbo kit around well as tuning info. Most run a Greddy emanage to tune turbos on these cars

Thanks SO MUCH for your input. I did a few searches and it seems in addition to the turbo (which I knew would run appx $3-4k) I will need upgrades to equip my ride to handle the turbo. Possibly looking at another $2-3k for those. I really didn't want to spend quite that much...so maybe the turbo is not the answer. I have wanted low-end torque for a while, just didn't know the bestand most cost efficient way to get it. Nothing comes close to a turbo, but I don't want it to wear on my engine either. I love my car and want it to last another 3 years at least. I know I would go witha goodcold air intake, new (better) plugs and wires, maybe a header, already have GREAT exhaust upgrade...any more suggestions? What's up with those performance chips?

Honestly that is the most effective way to making power from that car. If you really wanted a quicker car, I suggest getting a GST/GSX.

I know that would be the ABSOLUTE best thing to do - and would LOVE a GST....have even looked at a couple, not lately tho. If I did that I would be spending my $ onanother car and wouldn't have enough to do upgrades for a while. Mine is paid for, so I can do what I want - within reason of course. Also, I have a 2 year old, and if I did get another car it would be a 4 door, can't justify another 2 door, unless it's a Wrangler (which I plan to get eventually as my 'toy' - keeping my car). I really want an Evo. LOVE THEM!!! So anyway, pretty cut and dry then, a turbowould be the best (yet most expensive) upgrade. :-(
