Will someone please help me
I just put a new engine in my 97 Eclipse RS and it will not start. It's getting gus to the fuel rail and the injectors seem to be working but the engine refuses to catch. I am now at a loss to what to do next. Will someone pleas help me?
I dont think its firing. Dude i cant reply within 10 mins lol.
Its hard to tell without any testing equipment. You need to test the ignition control unit harness and check that its functioning properly. That can only be done with a devic.
Do you have a check engine light?
It might also be the crank angle sensor.

I can not remember if the check engine light stayed on or went out I'll have to check that tomorrow.
Is the crank sensor a small black flat round peice of plastic on the front of the cylinder head on the right end?
If it is I broke that and replaced it, is there something I needed to do to it when I replaced it?
And last but not least, what is a devic?
Sorry about the last post I was on a slower machine and could not tell if it was the computer or maybe you had in fact given up on me. Sorry.

Thats the cam angle sensor and that could be causing it too.
I thinkits oneof those sensors. Thequestion is what one. I think it could be the black one that you replaced. Either you replacedit with one thats bad orits the harness.Check the harness to it and make sure its all good and tight. It might be worth changing it again.
Also, check your fuse box for any blown fuses. That could be causing it too.
Then you might want to reset the ECU for good measure. Unplug the negative battery terminal and then turn the ignition to drain any extra power. Then wait about 5-10 mins and reconnect it.

Allright I had the battery completly out of the car for close to an hour if not more so I think the ecu should be well reset.
How would I check those two sensors? Can they be checked with a miltmetter or is there some other tool that's going to coast me an are and a leg?
