Default 16" vs. 17"

I have a '96 Eclipse. It has the stock 14" aluminumrims on it. I'm looking at buying some NEW rims, and I'm trying to decide between either 16" or 17". What are some pros and cons of both?? What would you do?? Here's alink to the rims I'm leaning towards. http://www.discounttire.com/product/...fur.bmf.xl.jpg

17's definately 17's.... I personally would go 18's with those rims... but if I had to choose between 17 and 16 I'd choose 17

I personally like 18s better.

The only thing i can think of is tires would be a little cheaper

I like 17s and 18s but dont go smaller cuz if you plan on putting a big brake kit on ever most require 17s

first of all i love those rims...you can take the chrome inserts off as i am doing when i buy them and puting in red if i actually get my car painted red..i originally had 16' on my eclipse and put some 17' on and i think it looks pretty good.theres not really any pros or cons besides the tire price as sebba stated..im sure theres no problems with suspension either as long as youve got good struts,shocks..i havent lowered mine any and it looks great with the 17 inchers

All depends on what your goal is for the car. Keep in mind that a bigger rim will equal more rolling mass, which means it will slow your car down. If you don't do much spirited driving, then by all means go 18" which are the best looking size (in my opinion) for the 2g Eclipse. However, if you're into AutoX or anything, a smaller rim, probably no bigger than a 16" light weight performance designed rim would be appropriate.

I heard it's hard to fin 16in tires for some reason. 17 looks better too
