Wasn't really sure what area to put this in, so I thought it would be here. I bought some engine paint, wondering if I have to do anythign to parts I am going to paint before actually applying it? Base coat or anything?

just clean the crap out of them with some parts cleaner and a wire brush, then follow with a rinse and let dry. thats what i did and my 351 is still FORD blue
