spray paint my car
i just bought a 97 gs eclipse from my friend she had it painted pink.i just bought it from her and i want to have it painted so i am going to spray paint it flat black. i already bought the spray paint, sand paper and everything is there any thing specific i need to do before i start to paint??the painter at a body shop here in town said i will be ok as long as i justsand off the clear coat then start painting.

yea i mean spray paint i know couple people who have did it im not worried about how it looks just i wanna know if it will be ok like this into around the first part of the summer when i can have it painted because i need the car on the road

it should be ok just make sure to wet sand the whole car or else the paint wont stick to the car. it takes some time but it will save u a lot of timeand fustration in the future. please let this only be a temporary thing

no no no no no what the hell are you thinking?? dude if you're gonna get it painted in the summer why would you spray on extra coats now? it's just gonna cost extra money for them to sand all that spray paint off later. They'll have to sand ALL of it off or else your new paint will lift. so dont even think about spray painting your car, it's gonna look hideous and cheap and awful, just stick it out till summer
