I have a 90 montero LS LWB. Recently replaced all of my ball joints as they were worn out. Realized the previous owner had lifted the front end using the torsion bar. I leveled the truck back down because I had read that doing that lift can cause ball joints to fail as well as create a rough ride (which I was also experiencing.)
The truck rides much softer now with the lowering, new ball joints, and new procomp es9000 shocks.
My question is this.
Has anyone used the old man emu lift kit with heavy duty torsion bar? And if so, how much did it help keep the soft ride? Also, do I need to look into heavier duty ball joints to avoid excessive wear? Or is there a upgraded control arm to help with the wear?
