Have any of you "played" with your Outlander 4WD-AWC / S-AWC? Have you gotten stuck? Did you actually try to get stuck? Were you unable to do something you wanted to?
Just curious what others' experiences are like. We got almost no snow last year, so my 2013 Outlander SE wasn't tested beyond the usual ice and snowbank situations which didn't cause any problems at all. .

Also - I used to drive my previous Jeep Cherokee on the beach - including hard sand and soft sand. Anyone have experience doing this with their Outlander?

There are lots of videos from Russia, crazy folks drive in much worse conditions then on a smooth beach sand

Well yes, I've read your post. Lots of people get stuck purposely or not.

I got temporarily stuck once in a 5 cm (2") deep mud. But not because my Outlander's 4WD could not handle it but because there were unfortunate conditions where car was in a 6x6m (20' x 20') large and 20cm (=8") deep hole surrounded by slippery semi-rounded asphalt edges and mud-dirty tires could not get enough grip to get out of that hole. I had to improvise and position my car (luckily for me!) such that right back tire would climb up at low angle to that edge and not 90 degrees right angle. 90 deg attempts were leading to nowhere even if all 4 wheels were spinning. No friction... That was my experience: I had to use my brain rather then rely on 4WD technology. No, I have not had any intentions to get stuck in that hole at night time when it was raining

 

Nice - thank you for sharing! I have had a similar experience in my Jeep Cherokee. Once the tires get slippery mud on them - game over

 

That's true, Outlander is the best vehicle to off-road around, but every vehicle has its limits.
