Exclamation 95" Non-Turbo Eclipse Won't start after engine over-haul

I bought a 95 Mitsubishi Eclipse from a friend this time last year and had it for about 8 months before it threw a rod while I was driving, I didn't have the money to get a brand new motor flown in from California or anywhere else for that matter so I spent 3 months looking for a re-manufactured one. I found a nearly identical match at a salvage yard and bought it. After pulling out the old motor and installing the new one it wouldn't start, I tried diagnosing it with a CarMD and all it would tell me was to change my headlights and get new coil boots, the main issue is I have no spark and I'm hoping maybe it's as simple as needing new spark plugs? Any advice would be greatly appreciated as my land lord has given me 1 month to have it fixed or else he'll have it towed at my expense! Thanks in advance

sh*tty landlords are a real p.i.t.a.
Have you considered having him knocked off? Or kidnapping his kids for ransom?
Maybe just slashing his tyres and spraypainting 'facist' on his car?

but srsly.
No spark= ignition system.
What is? Dizzy? Points? Igniter unit? Cdi? Coil packs through ecu?
Most of these things can be TESTED.
you will need a multimeter.

Highly unlikely that no spark at the plugs is the plugs' fault.
Check, gap, replace, gap plugs anyway.

get your ecu flashed for the new motor...the ecu is programmed for the original engine and doesn't recognize the new one and will not send power to the coils because of this...so...flash the ecu or get the ecu out of the donor car and it should start up and run fine...either that or the salvage yard sold u a crap engine
