Default check engine

<FONT size=3>i have a 90 mighty max 170,000 m and the check engine light comes on, but if i floor it, it will go off, for a while anyway, any help?</FONT>

can somebody please explane what the o2 sensor is to me? hey, im still learning new things everyday!

o2 sensor is the oxygen sensor. It is usually located in the exhaust manifolds of cars and trucks. Many newer cars have two or eventhree o2 sensors. They serve many purposes, they can measure the air-fuel mixture and the EGT's. They measure by looking at theoxygen contents in the exhaust gasses. </P>

Map sensor is Manifold Absolute Pressure sensor.It measure the oncoming air in the intake manifold, before it enters the engine. It provides the ecu with the info needed to properly apply how much fuel is needed to help it work most efficiently.
