Default Cylinder Head Development

Hey Everyone,

I am in need of some info that I belive alot of you will be interested in later this year. I am looking for the most popular cylinder head and manifold combonation that everyone uses to produce the most power. I know you have 1g and 2g heads and intakes but whats more popular for the mitsu crowd.

I am going to develop a head and intake combo with modern day technology to increase the power gain for the mitsu enthusiast. I have unlimited access to the leading edge of cylinder head development , and racing technology. I work for a company that is one of the leaders in the nhraprostock racing fieldwhich produces some of the most efficiant naturally asperated engines in the world.

PersonallyI prefer the foced induction aspect of motor sience myself, and I am willing to produce a cylinder head intake combo for n/a and forced induction applications with modern tricks of the trade. I need to know some specs from a willing party to allow me to start these modifications needed. I amwilling to produce one or two test pieces forwell known solid foundation mitsu builers to test and tune in the future to showincreased torq and hp values. If some one wants to be part of this development processPM me and we can talk about what I need as far as specifications to start. I have access to 1g and 2g headcastings and so far manifolds are not a problem either. I want to start development by may 2004 so time is of the essence!. Also not to be negative ,but I need serious inqires only with extensive knowlege of the mitubishi motor combonations. This will benifit everyone in the future so any help would be appreciated. Looking forward to it.

Sincerely,

Default Cylinder Head Development

We can help you out, thanks for your interest. I can tell you the most preferred combo, and maybe some more. For the heads, the 1g was designed for high flow, better top end. The 2g heads were made with a more broader power band in mind, with smaller ports and valves. The blocks are for the most part the same, however the internals were a little different. The 1g block was superior in most ways than the 2g blocks. The 1g block had stronger con-rods and a more reliable six bolt configurations until about mid 1992. The 2g had higher compression pistons at 8.5:1, which are a common upgrades for 1g owners(they have 7.8:1 CR). The 1g had a more free flowing intake manifold, however the 2g intake manifold's had runners designed to give a wider power range while sacrificing top end flow. The 1g's had the worst exhaust manifolds, they crack fairly easily when boosted too high. The 2g's had a much improved exhaust manifold, but it wasn't bulletproof either. I doubt manifolds will be a concern though, you guys can fab Stainless steel and sheetmetal manifolds. So the best combo is actually the 1g six bolt complete engine with only 2g pistons as an upgrade. Hope this helps out, I'm building something a little off than that. I'm building the 2.4l 4g64 found in the 2g eclipse spyders. Not the best full raceengine because of the stroke, but a very good street engine. However, If you want you can donate some forged pistons to me and Spyderman9803!
