Whats up everyone, just need a lil advice. I purchaced my evo in oct 05 brand new, now got 10K mikes on it due to comutes to school and work. Sometimes I drive it hard, shifting so hard out of first that you hear that knock from the drivetrain. Is there a limit on how much abuse u give this machine? I don't drive hard all the time, only once in a while actually but my friends always give me **** tellin me it could take the abuse. I know it's rally inspeired but 30 grand is lots of money to waste. What sort of problems and malfunctions have you guys had since owning an evo. And, would you recomend abuse on a small level at least every once in a while. ...thanks

 

29k on mine and zero trouble still stock clutch too and a hand full of mods I drive hard all the time just no launching it.

The car will take it but the transfer case breaks alot but only if you launch alot....normal problems are calipers turning whiteish pink and wing getting spotted(mine has both but warrenty covers both)

 

Yea It Can Take it the Abuse... But Launching Will mess it up and Fast.... I Broke My T Case A few months ago From Launching.. And its Still not Back... Another Thing you Should worry about is Your Syncros Grinding.... And If you Gonna Drive it hard that day Check Your IC Hoses Cuz if they Come Off its Very Bad for the Car.

 

never had an IC hose pop off on me and I push the car alot. but ya ive heard the same about teh synros I havent had any trouble with mine though

Well you can launch it just make sure you come off the clutch easy. Better to replace a clutch then replace a t case
