Default exhaust & hi flo filter?

Hi guys,
I just bought an 06 Endeavor, and has been happy with it so far...except the gas consumption. Actually if I can get the spec'd 17 mpg in city, I'll be still happy, but mine is not there so far. I'm hopping that its going to improve as the ECU settles in (or not )
The question I have iswhat is the effect of hi floair filter (K&N) and a custom better flowing exhaust (2nd cat delete) onmitubishi vehicles (specifically Endeavor and Gallant) as far as the gas consumtion goes? This is my first mitsu, but when I did the same on my mazda3, it runs better with better gas consumption.
Anyone want to pitch in ?
Thanks

Default RE: exhaust & hi flo filter?

more air flow means more gas, 50/50. pop-pop give kinda thing. fuel flow is measured by the incoming airflow, some save gas...that is if you dont pound the accelerator. ease w/ the pedal and you'll see the diffrence.
