Welp , its getting time to get my first car soon, and im getting a 2nd gen eclipse. The only prob is being its my first car my parents arnt really wanting me to get a GST even though I'm buying it. So i was wondering if a GS engine can take a turbo as good as the 4G63 engine. I've read a few things saying that it will not hold up.

 

get the GSX and scrape off the "x"...theyll think its a gs and u can make somthing up for the turbo...like its a intake/exaust bracket or sonthing

lol ok....well buy any eclipse....because when you do get the $$$$ you can do a 4g63 swap into it.....be prepared for problems though

 

just gotta hope i can talk em into letting me get a manual gst . ill just pull the whole "Turbos get better gas milage" crap... maybe that will help.

 

chances are they wont even know what the turbos look like....and chances are theyl believe that as well

 

no the GS motor is a completly different motor

 

do what your parents ask. suck it up. there will still be GSX es available in a few years. But if you frustrate them, they will be more likely to withold financial support in the future...when you might really need it.

be smart....suggest a compromise in between. They feel like they got something, you'll feel like you won an emotional battle with them...even if you didn't get the exact car you wanted today.
