I think I got it!!
Ok, My Sub went out last week or so. I took it to the shop and they said my amp was blown. Get this I go out and buy another amp hook it up nothing happens. I pull out my H/U check all wires still nothing. go to another shop and they tell me my amp is in "protect mode" and I should check my speaker ok so I now put the new amp back in box and take it to the PX and exchange it for a 10" sony explode. just as a test I hook up the speaker itself and sure enough I have sounds again. So I remove the old 10" which was a MA from the box and I see that it is a 650w my amp is a 760 no wonder the damn thing blew.
Ok the reason for this random post is I have a pioneer H/U 45W x 4 a pioneer amb 760W and a sony explode 1100max sub. is this a good set up? it sounds great I just don't want to blow it again.

Sony Xplod tends to do just that, Nubian... Explode... Unless of course, its a Mobile ES. The Pionner stuff isnt bad at all, though... I like Pioneer... Carrozzeria (JDM equivilant to Pioneer Elite) anyway... Though youll find most amps rated at 760 in fact push MUCH lower than that. Its your RMS you want to look at, not the peak.
Here are pics what I am talking about.

lol, I had that same Pionner amp powering the 4 channels in my Talon, lol. Good amp. The sub you have there isnt bad... its just... to put it semi-nicely... a Wal-Mart sub, you get me? Id also check my connections in the back of that sub... and anything that leads from the amp to the sub... something caused that speaker to go... if it were blown, it would just sound like ****... not make no sound at all.
Really well it did nothing but, when I hooked up the Sony it played right away. When I took the MA out of the SUB BOX I started to keep it I threw it in the dumpster. So is it possible something came loose inside of the subbox all the connections looked good to me.
You can really use any amp with that sub.. Just dont keep turning the volume **** b/c you can... When it starts to sound like its more than it can handle turn it back down!!! Dont just keep turning it up to see how much you can get.
