Just got a hell of a deal...or did I?
Maybe a dumb post, but here goes... I just bought this 98 Spyder GS on eBay for $3,050. Beautiful, only one minor cosmetic problem and no mechanical problems.

Now, I'm pretty happy...KBB private party value is close to 6k if I remember correctly, and I ran a background check and the car is clean. Aside from the fact that this car was in PA, I see no reason why it shouldn't have gotten more bids (only 5) and unique bidders (3 including me).
What do you think? I almost **** myself when I saw that I won that car for $3,050, but was there something I'm missing that everyone else saw?

Yeah...fortunately, the patch does look pretty damn small, though at first glance new tops on eBay seem to be more than I remembered. But as long as it's patched correctly and won't rip more, it will be fine for now.
Yeah, I was so surprised by that explanation that at first it made me leery of the car...I got tons of action in my old Spyder a few years ago, women love those cars. Who would turn one down? Anyway, I talked to her dad, apparently she's like 5'1" and can't see to drive it. That's believable.
Oh... thats a reason though.
Well, i think the price you got from KBB was for a GST spyder.. this is the GS. So the price you paid was on the low end... but maybe not as good of a deal as you once thought... but still a decent deal : )
The car should serve you well.

I'm getting $5,410 for 'good condition' KBB private party value on the 98 Spyder GS...only options I added were premium wheels and mp3 player.
I'm already looking at several mods on ebay, I'm gonna have fun with this one. I think it will look really great with 20% tint too.

Good idea....got any ideas for nice mods to this car? I've already picked out white/glow gauges, HVAC panel, euro tail lights, and trim kit, trying to think of anything else I can do.
