i just bought a 2003 evo 8 thats totally stock. as much as i love it, its not powerful enough for me. im looking to get the FQ400 motor to swap in but dont know if they are legal in the US and i have no clue where or how to find one. The motors are the same bro. The only difference is the turbo and the tuning. The motor itself is the same.

 

Here is how you find one. Go buy a 20G\9 turbo a fuel pump hard pipe kit and exhaustget your car dyno tuned for 22-24PSI and you will have what you want.

I bet you wouldnt even need to go that extreme to get more than you expect. Just research the car a little bit and you will see that all the WORLDS FASTEST EVOs are USDM VIIIs
