Mitsu Pick Up

Mitsu Pick Up
Ok so the Raider looks nice... but its a freaking dodge dakota.
Will Mitsubishi ever make their own truck for sale in the US? I loved my Mighty Max and would give anything for Mitsu to make a tough little cheap truck like that again. I found the Mitsubishi Triton online and I would spend 20-25k on one of them things. That truck is sweet! If mitsu brought a compact - midsize truck to the us with a turbo deisle in it. They would kill! There is a huge market for that here. Ford is about to launch the 09 modley year f150 (will be full redesign w/ multiple new engines) with a 4.4L Turbo Charged v8 deisle w/ around 400-500 ft lbs of torque. That will be a bad *** truck. But I'd prefer a mitsu.
Just wonderin if anybody knows where I could find some info about future mitsu trucks maybe? Thanks!

not sure when it's suposed to be released if it even made it out of the concept pages but the Mitsubishi Street Raider should be coming out in the next year or so, we had a thread about it a good while ago but the pics look reallly nice

RE: Mitsu Pick Up
Is it still just a dressed up dodge dakota though? I want a mitsu engineered truck. I have a 4x4 F-150 with 215,000k miles on it and it still runs perfectly and its only ever had minor repair problems here and there. I have tons of respect for Fords pickups, but I still think my old mighty max was a better truck than my F-150.
If mitsu ever did think about bringing the Triton or L200 whatever its "real" name is, to the US where could I find information. Where is there information about future mitsu vehicles?

I agree I think the Raider is a good lookin truck and I looked up the Street one and it looks sweet too. But its a dodge dakota and the dakota & rams are not very solid trucks in my opinioni, and that means the same about the raider. Because its just a dakota with a new front clip, tailights, badges... basic junk. I am not poopooing it just because of dodge. I have a 2002 dodge neon in addition to my f150 and I think the neon is a very solid, reliable car. Its up to 52k miles on it and the breaks still have another 20-30k miles left in them. the only issues I've had with the neon was a girl drove it one time and hit a pot hole hard enough to knock the front end alignment way off. I wish the breaks on my F-150 could last 80k miles, but on the other hand I can jump it 2 feet in the air at 40 mph and the alignment has no problems after landing.
The ball joints on my F-150 started squeaking and wearing out after 190,000 miles. My buddy bought a brand new ram and another friend bought a new toyota. The ram broke...BROKE a ball joint after hitting a pothole. And the toyota had a recal on the ball joints. Did I mention I routinley jump my f150 2 feet in the air at 40 mph? My 1988 mitsubishi mighty max that I miss the hell out of, went 120,000 miles before I had to replace ball joints in it.

I have to disagree about the neon, my dad has an 02 es, it has about 120k i want to say off the top of my head, has been thought 3 trannys, 1 head, a number of tie rods and god knows how many gaskets. Have you seen the stock tie rods on the neons? They are hollow lol, not very save, the replacement we got from advanced auto where alot more heavy duty to say the least. We replaced so much stuff the car is brand new lol
