Default Mitsubishi Lancer GSR 2013 - potential purchase

Hi there. I am 19 years old in NZ and have been searching for a car to purchase for a while now. I have saved a lot of money and have found a nice one, which is a Lancer GSR 2013. The dealership wants $17,000 for it, but I will be paying cash and could likely get for less. (approx $11000 USD)

I have a few questions about the vehicle. First of all the dealer has listed it as a GSR 2013, but I've looked around and their doesn't seem to be a model called GSR in the 2013 models. Only ES, DE, Ralliart etc. Could this particular one be an ES or DE? Or is GSR an actual model? What are the differences between the models and what model is the one I am looking at if not a GSR? Also, what are common problems with the 2013 Lancers and if something did go wrong are the fix up costs expensive?

Could anyone do a review on that vehicle that I'd like and let me know what they think? is it worth the price tag?

Thanks

1. Look up the VIN.
2. Wikipedia / Edmunds / Blue Book - you'll find everything you need doing your homework online.
Good luck!

Look under the under the car for score marks...that's the first thing to see if it's been "punished".

And that should not be your first car. By a sh+tbox and learn how to drive first! Buy a sporty little hatchback. Once you have some skills then move up...
