Hello all, i need your opinions!

Im buying a new car within the next 45days. For the last few months i have researched the subaru impreza and fell in love with it. My budget allows for the 2.5i. The other day i went out with a few friends and for the sake of comparison we drove 2 other cars, mazda3 and the mitsubishi galant. Mazda is out. Mitsu remains.... I was actually interested in the galant's interior over the impreza. After driving the Galant (2007 ES) with 4 guys inside i was impressed with the 4cyl. engine. Let me lay out some facts that i liked. 160HP 4cyl engine, 4spd auto with sporttronic shift, front and side curtain airbags, roomy interior for 5 full adults, moonroof, Ice Blue backlights on the console, 6disc cd-changer, 360watt rockford fosgate stereo, large trunk room, fog lights, 10yr 100k mile powertrain, 5yr b-to-b, 7yr corrosion warranties.

background information. The Galant is about 23k but ill get a discount which brings it down around 18-19k which is in the 2.5i's price range. insurance is about 20-30$ less on the galant/month and from what i hear the maintenance is good for both cars.and in my situation are about the same price range. I would love something faster with a turbo like the WRX but i cannot afford it or the insurance. I also plan to keep this car for 10+ years. I love how the subie drives but the galant seems to have more inside and i would get more for my money with the galant.

So please give me your thoughts/opinions/comments on these two cars because im 50/50 and need some advise! thanks in advance guys!

 

are you set on these 2 cars? have you had a chance to drive the MazdaSpeed3?? they are about 25k i believe and come with a solid turbo platform to mod off of with a decent aftermarket only getting better every day!

 

I'd prefer the Subie over the Mitsu any day of the week.

 

Even though i own a Mitsu owner and have owned 9 mitsu's already....I would say get the Impreza! Great car, i also would like to get one....but i am thinkin about getting a forester xt

 

newer suby's are fugly besides the sti....

 

Nah, even the STi is ugly...but that just adds to the charm. I'd love to have a little wrx wagon for a daily driver.

The Galant in not exactly a looker either.

 

subys r ugly as crap only thing they got goin for um is the engine and drivetrain... that said i dont like the new galants either, too big. the wheelbase has been streched five inches over the 8g's. now it isno different than an impala only with less power. if you are set on a new car then keep looking. butyou should consider looking at a used car with low miles (they're out there!) and get a dealer extended warrenty you will spend less than both of these.

 

yea the new galants arent that great...i do however love 6g galants and yes even the 8g galants.

 

I sell Fords and Mercurys for a dealership here....Try the Ford Fusion all-wheel drive...It handles amazingly...comes in a 4 or 6 cylinder...Good power in both motors...ranked #1 in it's class plus the interior is really nice. I'd put it against the Subarus any time! Great car for the money..Way less than the Subaru.

 

i like the fusion...quote that couse i hate fords with a passion...but the fusion is going somewhere imo.
