Default New Car

Okay, so now i have a '97 eclipse gs, and have been told that it's really not worth it to put all the work into it to make it fast, so i'm looking at a couple different cars, and want your personal oppinions on them.

My first choice is a newer eclipse gsx. (i'm just partial to eclipses)
Second is a 3000GT VR-4 but have been told it's expensive to work on.
And finally a late 90's EVO.

Let me know what you guys think.

I don't know, are there not any, i'm not too sure, (see my member name ) i just know it's not one of the newer ones. Oh, I just saw a 98 gt spider with 64,000 miles for $11400. It looks to be extreamly clean, but won't know for another week. Does that sound about right?

Good list. Go for the 95-99 GSX or even GS-T.

As for the VR-4, yeah they are expensive to work on, but ya know, it's kinda worth it. Even more luxurious. But luxury has a price.

And for the late 90s Evo, you'll have to import one from Japan, New Zealand, England, or Australia, for the most part. Biggest carriers of those cars. If you are super-lucky, you might find one up in Canada. Unfortunately, they might not meet U.S. safety and/or emissions standards, so getting it through customs will be a bitch and then, if you have to, modifying it to meet U.S. standards will cost money too. And of course they are right hand drive (which I love), but if you can't handle that, probably want to take that off the list.

Ok now I know that you can use www.carsoup.com, Carnewbie because CA is on the list. Use carsoup, it is wonderful. There are like 4 really good GSX/GS-Ts for under $6,000 there. And there are even more really good ones between the $6,001-$11,000 range.

as silvertooth said...they don't make early model evos in the US, the evo 8 is the first offered here. If you're really a car newbie, i'd start off with something NA and fairly reliable.
