reconditioned or second hand engine

hey guys,

Wanted to pick your brain on something.

If you had the choice to pick between a reconditioned engine or a used engine for an L200, which one would you opt for?

I went used trying to save. But by the time I finished replacing timing components, gaskets, sensors etc before installing. I would have been better off buying a recon.
