Default bypassing fmic?

Alright, the mechanic thats fixing my car said he took the fmic out of my car to get it cleaned(it was clogged with oil and **** from when my turbo blew)

So could the fmic be the problem with my new turbo not working and the constant bogging down?

And he said if it wasnt cleanable he could just bypass it and my turbo and everything will still work but it will run a little hotter. Is it alright to do this?

It would take a LOT to clog a fmic. After its put back together have then do a boost leak test.

I agree with the boost leak test. A gunked up FMIC is one thing, but a leak will make your car run like crap. Oh and don't listen to your mechanic. It's not as simple as running hotter. If you're referring to a DSM...SMICs were installed at the factory for a reason and without a way to cool the charge your motor could knock, detonate, or even warp the head if your EG temps are high enough for an extended period of time. You might as well take off the turbo and just run it N/A. Not a smart idea to run around with no IC and a new turbo...there's just too much temptation to spool it up every chance you get.

**ooops, didn't notice the first post stated FMIC.**

Well, his mechanic suggested taking the IC off. I stated that he might as well remove the turbo if he was to remove the IC...unless you were talking about me, then... [sm=icon_beat.gif] lol
