Default short ram vs. cai

Okay well looking around and cant really decide if i should get a short ram or cai on my 96rs eclipse. i know there is a risk of sucking water with cai but it also gets colder air. im pretty stumped on this one. i know you guys will help. or beat me with a stick. either way its cool

I say, go for a CAI or get a RAM and make it into a CAI...to keep cost down
A CAI can use a bypass valve to keep from sucking in water if it's ever dropped into a puddle.
A RAM just sucks in too much engine bay heat to make it a performance mod, especially during the summer and so on.

i really dont think its gonna matter much either way. The total HP difference between a CAI and a short ram may only be like 3-5hp. So really if your thagt worried about submerging the filter where you live then go with the short ram. BTW this has been discussed many times. Try a search

sorry just thought i would do a poll to see what the masses prefer. and i did do a search and wanted more info. for me its not so much about the power (which would be nice) i want the best combo of power and looks. i sorta think the cai looks sorta funny but the ram gets more warm air. so i dont know for sure thats why i made this thread.

Well check this out most cold air intakes are 2 piecers anyways so you can do a cai and when it raind take the bottom part off and convert it to a short ram

Yes my AEM is a one piece which i don't understand why because AEM patented the bypass valve so you would have to cut there intakes to put it on

I have the same question. If you had to pick one, what would you take?
