Default Taking off the head

I want to take off the head because i have completly ****ed something inthere and i want to take a look. It was a BRAND NEW engine ( i did not know this) and i drove it a little hard and now there is a ticking under the hood in the top part of the engine. ITS NOT CRANKWALK. Its somethign to do with the rockers or the spings on one of the rocker arms. It sounds like a piston is hitting a valve and there is a great loss of power. I have not ran it since the sound started to avoid more damage. What are the tools ill need. And what are some heads ups i should have befor i jump in the ring

You never read the "How to break in an engine" thing did you? Running the engine hard is better in the break in period

well what kinda rpms are you getting... and engines are always more powerful when they are brand new.

Yeah but i have not started it in a week or two. and also my friend cut off the recording but it started to squeak on the second start but i think its just condenstation or something like that from not running? or could it be the timing causing it to squeak and a make that terrible sound of metal on metal

It either sounds like a spun bearing or valves hitting pistons. Defenatly not lifter tick and defenatly not normal. In other words it spells big problems.
