Default Things are looking up, but a few questions still

First off the car is going good-ish, I making some good progress with it. The head is off, and i uber cleaned it. Same with valves and springs, lifters, everthing on the head is relativily clean. SOme is even shiny again , but i still got a few questions about this.

Lifters... DO they have to go in the same place, i keep hearing different stuff...

If i have minor scratches and dings on the surface of my head (where valve cover gaskets goes) will i have issues?

Get back asap, thanks again

well, are the scratches on the side of the vc or on the side that goes on the block? if it's on the side of the block you'd have to get it resurfaced, cuz otherwise there's no point to slapping the whole thing back together as you'll be taking it off to get it surfaced later. and for the lifters, wut the hell you wanna do?

If you have the head off i suggest ugrading the lifters to remove the lifter tick. Thats if you can spend the money. Here is the best price youll find them

ORIGINAL: Sebba

Yeah dont worry abt the valve cover and the lifters should go back where they were but you should upgrade to 2gen lifters or the revisted 3gen lifters to avoid the ticking.

How much do u like doing timing belts? Thats why lol. No but really do the w/p too b/c you'll have to take some of the timing components off just to get to some of the bolts. So do it all at once instead of doing it again later down the road.
