Default Why is the Spyder GS always left out?

I have found headers and exausts for the GST Spyders but nothing for the GS. I dont want to put huge money in to it. just looking to do some bolt ons. I used to have a Probe GT with headers and a gready exaust and I loved the way it sounded. The car just didnt have the power. Now with my spder i have more of what I am looking for. Plus the big bonus is no more one wheel burnouts for me.

Can anyone point me out in the right direction for a exaust setup for a 97 Spyder GS?

Here is a great write-up for the 4g64 (your engine code). There is quite a big defficiency in parts for that car since there isnt a huge demand in the aftermarket. So this site helps you peice things together to get them work for the 4g64 http://4g64.150m.com/performance.html

Also, if you go to look for parts on ebay, the 4G64 engine is used in many Mitsu. models, as well as other makers cars (such as Hyundai, specificaly the Sonata uses a 4G64 derivitive) so looking for parts for other cars' motors may prove succesful

Wait I was just gonna say that the GS uses a 420a but I didn't know the spyder has 4g64, does anyone know why?

not really sure...that is a good question though...wasnt it only the 97-99 spyders that had the 4g64?

the 7g galant also had the 4g64 motor so who knows.

All 2g GS spyders have the 4g64. Its because of the extra wieght. You have a heavier car, so they put a larger motor into it. Also the 3g eclipse rs/gs havev the 4g64 engine. It has different internals and head, but its the same block

And the 8g Galant also has the 4g64 as well as the 7g Galant....94' Galants had a dohc 4g64 and the rest of the 7g's had the sohc.

Ok so if thats true. is there anyway that like headers will match up from the 3g eclipse. And i know the turbo exaust are differant from N/A exausts. Turbos exaust tend to be bigger. So would a 420a gs catback work on the spyder? I know i could get adapters but i dont want that.

I have a feeling you can use a turbo exhust on your car... I hd a 4g64 3G eclipse before I used a DSM cat back on it but I needed to have the hangers cut off and moved to the other side.. The headers on your car and the 3G might acually be exactly the same too.

exactly. If you had read the page i posted up it tells you what exhaust to use. They use almost the exact same bends as the 2g GS-t
