Default Can't Get Aftermarket Radio to Work

I've got a 2009 Outlander I bought used that I want to upgrade the radio in, it does not have Rockwell Fosgate. The factory unit which I've taken out already is model DY-3W69U-5.
I bought a Kenwood DPX540BT and a Metra harness 70-7005. But when I installed it, it doesn't work. I thought maybe it was a bad unit so I returned it and bought another, but same thing, doesn't work. So then I bought a Mobilistics harness WH-542 and that didn't help either. Am I missing something? Am I using the wrong harness? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I tried installing an aftermarket radio(2002 eclipse, stereo located below passenger seat was completely rotted out probably from the convertable) without using a wiring harness. I also messed with the clock unit on the top of the dash too and i think the ACC signal that tells when the key is turned travels through it to the radio so i had to connect mine to the heater signal...if u get a haynes manual it has most of the wiring diagrams in it
